So much Scripture speaks of lament, not to mention some of Jesus last words on the cross. So often recognizing the importance and place of lament has been a pastoral gap in churches. Consequently, by our silence, many people have gotten the impression that if they are in pain, there is no place to go in the church. Frankly, I don't feel good about the situation of our nation - nor of our church. I can get angry, but that doesn't feel right either. In fact it feels futile. I truly believe you are onto something very real and profound - a clear and resounding word for the church in this hour. Again - thanks.
