The Race

Two bodies running, Jerusalem bound,
To those fearfully hiding behind locked doors.
Emmaus disciples, minds racing even faster
To contain the uncontainable–Jesus is alive!
Running, running not fast enough,
Feet too slow for the startling good news:
Two who had listened to Jesus,
Who broke bread with the Risen One!
Will the others believe us?
We hardly believe ourselves.
Running hard, sides aching,
Hearts beating, minds chasing the wonder–
He is alive…just as he promised.

These words are words of hope.
A God who loves us more than we can begin to imagine.
It shows us the extreme way that God will go to have a personal relationship with us.
I am thankful that I serve a living God!
God bless you brother this week as you do His pleasing and perfect will.
Preacherman,
May you experience God’s empowering presence this week.
