The Power of Prayers

Prayer is our means of communication with Jesus. Without it, our lives may be in complete disarray and we’ll likewise find ourselves lost in this imperfect world we’re living in.

So how powerful is prayer? It’s a lot more than we would have expected.

This was evidenced by Elijah who earnestly prayed that it wouldn’t rain. Indeed, God granted this and for three and a half years, it never rained.

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus also said that you can move a mountain even if you have faith that’s as small as a mustard seed.

Moreover, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells that prayer has the divine power to destroy every pretension and arguments that try to keep us away from God.

How Do We Tap Into the Power of Prayer?

Contrary to what we normally believe, the power of prayer is not caused by the person who’s praying. Rather, the power lives in the Divine Person who’s being prayed to and that’s God.

In 1 John 5:14-15, it says that whatever we ask, we’re confident that God’s going to hear us. This does not necessarily mean that He will grant everything we wish. Instead, God replies to our prayers as long as it’s in line with His will. Although His answers won’t be “Yes” all the time, they’re always for our best interest.

Anything I Should Pray to Make It More Powerful?

Philippians 4:6-7 teaches us that God’s help is available for all kinds of issues and requests through the power of prayer. When you pray, speak to God in your own words. Make sure that you worship Him in your prayer, trust Him, confess to Him, and more.

If you need a guide to creating a good prayer, you may read Matthew 6:9-13. It’s the Lord’s Prayer. It’s supposedly not intended to be memorized and recited to God. Rather, it’s an example of how we should pray to God.
