One point I took from your post is the danger of understanding "truth" solely in terms of "stating facts." Thus, all films are documentaries, etc. One great weakness of the fundamentalist mindset (which I'm sure Gervais is attempting to skewer) is its lack of imagination, its inability to see that truth can be communicated in ways other than "Just the facts, ma'am." Who would want to live in such a world? And yet this is exactly the way some people portray the Bible and the Christian faith. Am I catching on to something you are trying to say here? John,
