I’ve been Memed!
Feb 6th, 2008 by John
My friend, Jeremy Bouma, over at novus lumen got me. Here is what I must do:
Pick up the nearest book of 123 pages or more. No cheating!
Find Page 123.
Find the first 5 sentences.
Post the next 3 sentences.
Tag 5 people.
I am sitting in my office at Fellowship Evangelical Covenant Church. Right behind me are a few books. The book closest to me with over 123 pages is Richard A. Burridge, What Are the Gospels? A Comparison with Graeco-Roman Biography. Jeremy gave it to me. Dang!, page 123 ends a chapter so there are not enough sentences on the page to complete my task. Hmmmm, what else is nearby? I walk to the closest book shelf. I grab John Goldingay, Old Testament Theology Vol 1: Israel’s Gospel. The 3 pinpointed sentences are:
“An executive will have a clear idea of what should issue from the exercise of decisive authority, and presumably that is also true of God. But the executive will look interestedly if not anxiously to see what are the results of intervention, and if they are good, will be pleased. That is certainly true of God, both as executive and as artist.”
Wow! Goldingay is in a league of his own as a theological thinker, artist, and writer.
I now tag:
