There are few place that as beautiful as Grand Haven, no matter what the season. to walk the board walk in summer of see what winter can do it amazing. Whenever I am back driving on 31 I will divert my trip and stop and walk on the pier because it is so good.

Really brings back memories. Grand Haven is an enchanting place.

If you ever want to have a little mischievous fun, drive back some of the private drives off from the beach roads in the Summer, and you will be shocked at the “mansions of glory” built up in the dunes. You might get chased off with a shotgun, however

Can’t say I miss the snow & ice, but it sure is beautiful.

Intense snow and ice always reminds me of one of my favorite movies from my yoot, Dr. Zhivago.

Only recently, however, I was crushed to find out that the magnificent icy winterized “summer home” in Vereekinu (sp) that Dr. Zhivago and Lara hid out in one winter, was actually done with melted wax, and the actors roasted under heavy coats in, I believe Spain.
